I developed this logo and brand identity for Kentucky Blue Bourbon and Spirits, a practice brief for a logo challenge. Born in the bluegrass state, Kentucky Blue is popular among locals and is perfect for unwinding at home or sipping from your seat at the Kentucky Derby. It was important to highlight Kentucky, so I incorporated a horseshoe to nod to the famous Derby. The bluegrass design on the bourbon label is another connection to the state. I gave the logo some movement with a curve and the customization of the “K”, reflecting the rolling hills, but also the fast pace of the horse races.
